Meet our fantastic team…
We provide a staffing ratio in line with and where possible, above the Welfare requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure that children have sufficient individual attention and to guarantee care and high quality fun.
Each child in Nursery will follow the EYFS and as such is designated a Key Person, who will liaise with your child’s Key Person in Nursery. We will link into your child’s ‘what next’ and provide feedback to both you and your child’s teacher or Key Person.
We are confident that our staff provide the very best care for your child at all times and are totally committed to their development and safety. We work at Bengeo Playgroup or within the school, so bonds have already been formed which provides a smooth transition for when the children start Busy Lizzies Kids Club.
“The staff have very strong links with the pre-school, nursery and school on site. All of the staff work across the settings. This ensures excellent continuity in children’s care, learning and support.” – Ofsted Report, December 2015
Tony Llewellyn – Manager
I am Mr Busy Lizzie! I started working with children 4 years ago after leaving my role as a bank manager. During this time, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in year 6 at Bengeo school and passed CACHE level 2 and CACHE level 3 diploma in childcare. I have also attended a designated safeguarding course, hold a food hygiene level 2 certificate and I am a qualified paediatric first aider.
Liz Llewellyn – Manager
I was first introduced to Bengeo playgroup when my eldest Oliver and then Thomas, progressed from playgroup through to school. I then started working at the Playgroup in 2012 and in 2013 set up Busy Lizzies to provide a much needed breakfast and after school care. I am qualified to NVQ3 level in childcare, have attended an Advanced and Basic Safeguarding children course and I am the Designated Safeguarding Person and Officer. I am also a qualified paediatric first aider and hold a food hygiene and safety level 2 certificate.
Casey Bennington – Playworker
I am a Mum of one and work in the breakfast and afterschool club each day. I am NVQ 2 qualified, have attended safeguarding training and am paediatric first aid trained. I love organising all the different arts and crafts activities for the children to engage in.
Kim Jessop – Playworker
I joined Busy Lizzies in 2020 and also work as an MSA in KS1 so I know the children really well. I am a Mum to 2 children both of which attended Bengeo School. I have attended the relevant safeguarding courses and hold a level 2 in food hygiene.
Shelley Balaam – Playworker
I joined Busy Lizzies and Bengeo Playgroup in January 2019 and am NVQ2 qualified. I work in the playgroup and wrap around care so know the children well. I have attended the relevant safeguarding courses and am paediatric first aid and food hygiene trained.
Rebecca Evison – Playgroup manager
I am a mum of two children and both started with Bengeo playgroup. I volunteered on the committee as a ENCO(and face painter!), when my son started at the playgroup 13 years ago.
Since having my second child I changed my job to better fit with my family. I worked for a number of years for a volunteering charity, running mentoring and befriending projects, working with children and young people supported by social services, before becoming a childminder. I am qualified to level NVQ 3 in childcare, have attended a designated safeguarding course and am a Paediatric first aider.
Sue Luck – Deputy playgroup manager
I worked at Bengeo Primary for 10 years before joining Busy Lizzies and have 3 children and 1 grandchild. I work in the playgroup, the breakfast and after school club. I am qualified to QCF Level 2 in early years education and care as well as being a qualified paediatric first aider. I have attended a designated safeguarding course and hold a food hygiene level 2 certificate.
